How to Flush a Radiator
Step 1: Prepare
First, park on level ground and let the engine cool. After that, put on gloves and set a drain pan under the car.
Step 2: Drain Coolant
Next, open the radiator drain valve. Then collect old coolant safely. Because coolant is toxic, always recycle it properly.
Step 3: Add Flush Solution
After draining, fill the system with flush solution and water. Then run the engine with the heater on. Finally, drain again until the fluid is clear.
Step 4: Refill with Fresh Coolant
Now refill with the correct coolant: Ford Motorcraft, Toyota SLLC, Honda Type 2, or GM Dex-Cool. Afterwards, bleed air from the system to prevent hot spots.
